University of Birmingham Masters Meet

Colin Stephenson, Jayne Stephenson, Brian Armstrong, Vicki Payne, James Lamb – absent Donald Leatherbarrow, Simon Wintle and Vinita Joshi-Deshpande

Eight swimmers from GMSC took part in the 2nd UoB Masters Meet. Congratulations go to Donald Leatherbarrow and Colin Stephenson who between them broke 5 British records. Don lowered the 200m freestyle, 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle records in the 85-89 year category. Colin broke the 200m freestyle and 100m freestyle records in the 65-69 year category. There were also some very good swims by the others, notably Simon Wintle was only 1.77 seconds off the 100m backstroke, and 1.28 seconds off the 200m backstroke records.
