Swim Wales – Swansea

Congratulations to Donald Leatherbarrow who broke 4 British records at the Swim Wales Long Course Masters Championships in Swansea, March 2025. Swimming in the 85-89 year age band he took 10 seconds off the old 400m freestyle record with a time of 7:31.26 and broke the 200m record on the way!
In the 200m Freestyle he lowered the time again taking a massive 22 seconds off the previous record to set a new time of 3:27.55
In the 200m breaststroke he lowered the record by 36 seconds with a time of 4:43.43
The 4th record was in the 50m freestyle which he swam in just 37.98 seconds.

Congratulations also go to Jessica Partridge (50-54yrs) who set a new British record in the womens 1500m freestyle with a time of 19:28.71
GMSC swimmers claimed 30 Gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals.
